The inaugural Nellions Tennis Open 2025 concluded in thrilling fashion at Parklands Sports Club, marking three days of high-energy competition, passionate crowds, and a powerful display of Kenya’s rising tennis stars.

Hosted in partnership with Tennis Kenya and Parklands Sports Club, the tournament drew over 100 registrations from clubs and counties across the country, competing in men’s and women’s singles for KES 100,000 in prize money.

A Weekend of Grit, Glory and Growth

The men’s draw saw fierce competition from the quarterfinals onward, with standout performances from Jeff Okuku, Liberty Baraka, Brandon Isami, and Karisa Kasam.

In the semifinals, Ernest Habiyambere(Rwanda) and Raymond Odour delivered intense matches that set the tone for a memorable closing day.

Ultimately, it was Ismael Changawa who lifted the men’s trophy, overcoming runner-up Albert Njogu in a commanding final.

On the women’s side, emerging talents like Joy Nangami, Taina C, and Mary Wachira shone in the quarterfinals, while Shana Mao and Rinnaz Kasam(Tanzania) battled through to the semifinals.

The final came down to Faith Urasa, who delivered a remarkable performance to claim the title, with Nancy Kawira finishing as runner-up.

Championing Kenyan Talent — The CSR Heart of the Tournament

While the weekend was a celebration of competition, it also marked a clear statement of intent from Nellions Moving & Relocations — to use sport as a platform for nurturing young Kenyan talent.

The tournament is part of Nellions’ broader Freedom To Move principle, which promotes not only excellence and precision in the logistics field, but also wellness, confidence, and opportunity.

“This Open is about more than trophies — it’s about giving upcoming athletes a stage to grow, be seen, and be supported,” said Cosmas Kamuyu, CEO of Nellions Moving & Relocations. “Kenya has incredible talent, and as a company rooted here, we are committed to walking alongside these players as they rise.”

In a strong show of commitment, Nellions announced plans to sponsor the Tennis Open as an annual event, giving the next generation of Kenyan athletes a dependable platform to compete, grow, and gain visibility.

A Lasting Legacy in Motion

The Nellions Tennis Open 2025 delivered unforgettable tennis moments — but more importantly, it planted the seed for a lasting legacy of community-driven sports development.

With the success of this year’s tournament, the stage is set for an even bigger, brighter event in 2026 — and a future where Kenya’s tennis champions can rise with the support they deserve.
