Nellions

Strengthening relationships, sharing perspectives, and building a more connected future for international moving.

NAIROBI, KENYA | OCTOBER 2026

Behind every international move is a person starting a new chapter, a family settling into an unfamiliar home, a diplomat taking up a new assignment, or an organisation helping its people move across borders. And behind every successful relocation is a network of people who work together, often across different time zones, cultures, languages, and regulatory environments, to make that transition possible.

It is this human connection that makes the international moving industry more than a logistics business.

This October, Cosmas Kamuyu, Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Nellions Moving & Relocations Ltd, will join colleagues, partners, and industry leaders in San Diego, California, for the PAIMA 42nd Annual Convention and the 64th International Association of Movers (IAM) Annual Meeting & Expo.

Taking place from 18–20 October and 21–24 October 2026, respectively, the two gatherings offer an opportunity to reconnect with long-standing partners, meet new members of the international moving community, exchange ideas, and reflect on how the industry can continue supporting people and organisations in an increasingly unpredictable world.

For Nellions, the journey to San Diego is about more than attending industry events. It is about the relationships that make international mobility possible, the conversations that challenge us to think differently, and the shared responsibility to serve our clients better.

Navigating the current, together

The global mobility landscape is changing. Geopolitical tensions, shipping disruptions, changing trade conditions, customs complexities, rising costs, and uncertainty across international markets continue to affect how people and businesses move around the world.

For clients, these challenges are not simply industry headlines. They can mean a family waiting longer for its household goods, an employee preparing to report to a new assignment, or an organisation managing the practical and financial pressures of relocating its people.

For moving companies and their international partners, the responsibility is to navigate these challenges together: communicating honestly, sharing information, finding practical solutions, and remaining dependable when circumstances change.

This is the spirit behind Navigating the Current.

Through conversations with international agents, relocation providers, and industry colleagues, Cosmas will have an opportunity to exchange experiences, understand emerging challenges in different markets, and explore how stronger partnerships can help deliver more predictable, responsive, and reassuring relocation experiences.

Because while no single company can control every change in the global environment, a well-connected network of trusted partners can make a meaningful difference in how those changes are managed.

Representing Africa and contributing to the global conversation

Cosmas’ participation carries an additional responsibility. Alongside leading Nellions, he represents the African continent on the International Association of Movers’ Core Members Management Board (CMMB).

This involvement creates an opportunity to bring African perspectives into wider industry discussions, contribute to the development of the international moving community, and strengthen connections between African moving companies and their counterparts around the world.

Africa is part of an increasingly interconnected mobility landscape, supporting diplomatic assignments, corporate transfers, international development programmes, and private relocations. Behind these movements are local teams whose knowledge of customs procedures, infrastructure, culture, and operational realities is essential to making cross-border moves work.

Ensuring that these experiences and perspectives are heard is important to building a global industry that recognises the different realities in which its members operate.

For Cosmas, representing Africa is not simply about having a seat at the table. It is about contributing to the conversation, learning from others, sharing what works, and helping build a stronger network of relationships that benefits the wider industry.

IAMTrusted: Making trust something customers can see

One of the important developments at this year’s IAM Annual Meeting & Expo is the evolution of IAMTrusted into a more consumer-focused initiative, with plans for a broader launch in 2027.

The proposed enhancements include a consumer portal for real-time verification of IAMTrusted mover status, a system to support the handling of consumer concerns, and a compliance validation framework covering relevant licensing and insurance requirements by location.

At its heart, this evolution addresses a question every customer faces when choosing an international mover: Who can I trust with my belongings, my time, and an important transition in my life?

International moving requires customers to place considerable confidence in a company and the network of partners handling their possessions across borders. They need to know who is responsible, how their shipment will be managed, and where to turn when they need answers.

By placing greater emphasis on transparency, accountability, and verifiable standards, the IAMTrusted initiative aims to help customers make more informed decisions and strengthen confidence in the industry.

For Nellions, this direction reflects an important principle: trust is not established by promises alone. It is built through consistent communication, responsible service delivery, professional conduct, and the way a company responds when things do not go according to plan.

PAIMA: Where professional partnerships become personal

Before the IAM gathering, the PAIMA 42nd Annual Convention will bring together members of the international moving community for its General Assembly, networking programme, and one-to-one meetings.

In an industry that depends on coordination across countries, these relationships are invaluable.

A conversation with an overseas agent can become a partnership that helps a family settle into a new home. A meeting between colleagues can lead to a better way of managing a difficult shipment. Reconnecting with a trusted partner can provide the reassurance that, even when a move becomes complicated, there are people willing to work together to find a solution.

These are the connections that give international moving its strength.

Nellions looks forward to making the most of these opportunities, strengthening existing relationships, welcoming new partners, and sharing experiences with colleagues who understand both the challenges and the rewards of serving customers across borders.

Celebrating progress while looking ahead

The San Diego conventions also come at an important time for Nellions.

During the 2024/2025 award period, the company received PAIMA recognition for reporting the highest international moving tonnage in the African region.

The recognition is a proud milestone for the Nellions team. Behind every shipment reported are the people who survey homes, prepare inventories, pack belongings, coordinate transport, navigate customs requirements, communicate with overseas agents, and support clients through the many details of an international move.

It is also a reflection of the relationships Nellions has built with partners who work alongside the company to deliver services across borders.

As the company looks toward this year’s awards, Nellions remains focused on building on that progress, strengthening its international network, and continuing to deliver dependable relocation solutions for corporate clients, diplomatic missions, non-governmental organisations, and individuals and families.

Growth matters, but so does how that growth is achieved: through reliable partnerships, professional service, and a genuine commitment to the people who place their trust in us.

Bringing the conversations home

For Cosmas and the Nellions team, the value of participating in these gatherings will ultimately be measured by what happens after the conferences end.

It will be reflected in the relationships strengthened, the ideas brought home, the lessons shared with colleagues, and the practical improvements that can be made to the way Nellions serves its clients and supports its international partners.

Every international move involves many people working behind the scenes, often thousands of kilometres apart, toward a common goal. When those people communicate well, understand one another, and share a commitment to doing things properly, the customer feels the difference.

That is the opportunity San Diego represents: not simply to talk about the future of international moving, but to help shape it through collaboration, shared learning, and stronger human connections.

As Nellions joins its global colleagues this October, the company does so with appreciation for the partners who have been part of its journey, enthusiasm for the relationships still to be built, and a continued commitment to raising the standard of mobility services in Africa.

Because in an industry defined by movement, it is the relationships we build along the way that keep us moving forward.

Navigating the current. Strengthening relationships. Moving forward together.
